In the spirit of keeping everyone on the same page, I'm reposting the list of things to do before the wedding with a couple of updates.
Updated Wedding To-Do List:
- Figure out centerpieces (hotel is providing mirrors, hurricane vases, and extra votives if needed)
---> I need to price out how much real flowers would cost, doing that today.
-
Designate MC Harry is the designated MC and DJ.
-
Buy & fill frames with photos of H. and I growing up, because slideshows are hella expensive Brittany and Bill have graciously offered to make us a slideshow and provide a projection system to show it on!
- Figure out how we’re decorating the first and second alcoves in the McKinney room
-
Figure out what exactly goes in the first and second alcoves in the room First alcove will be the caterer's beverages and our guest book thing, second alcove will have our desserts. Although maybe we should put the desserts in the caterer's room ... ?
- Buy / make a sign book that is also a guest book (see Mom’s brain)
-
Decide what to put the desserts on (plastic trays, disposable trays) Brittany has supplied me with a great idea for the trays to put the desserts on. :D
- Decide where desserts should go (originally, on the cake table, but cake table is too small and we have two alcoves, so why not put some there? Probably because the dance floor is in the way)
- Decide if we want to put anything up behind the cake table (fabric pom-pom lanterns)
-
Do we want mini lights in the ceiling? (I’m totally stealing this from you, Brittany) No lights, there are floor-length windows that will let in enough light.
-
Not doing a seating chart, but where should our families sit in the room? With the exception of H. and I, everyone is fending for themselves. Call it Musical Wedding Chairs. Okay, but srsly, here's an updated diagram of the space.
-
Song list for the ceremony Worked this out with the ceremony musician.
- Song list for the reception
-
I need to buy a garter. I have no idea where to do this. Brittany let me in on the Hobby Lobby secret.
- Make fluffy wedding shoes (time permitting)
-
What is the bridal party’s day-of transportation? Limousines, baby.
- Pay the photographer
- Make ceremony programs
---> I'm waiting on the church musician to tell me if she can play a specific song. Once I have that, I am prepared to print the programs tomorrow.
-
Contact everyone for the rehearsal dinner I've sent messages to everyone via FB, and I just need to call Uncle Andy + Uncle Thomas to make sure they have the information correct.
- Figure out what the wedding day schedule will look like (before the ceremony)
- Decide on what jewelry to wear with the dress
- Decide what jewelry the bridesmaids should wear, depending on what we/they have.
- Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
-
Give H. a haircut so he looks snazzy. Done.
-
Figure out who’s giving toasts at the reception (MOH, BM, parents of B + G) Toasts are Susan, Harry, Henry, and John
- Designate someone to check in to the hotel for H. and I
- Consider getting mani / pedi for such a fab occasion
- Pay ceremony site staff, musicians, priest, etc.
-
Figure out when we can start using the church’s rooms We can start using the church rooms at 11am.
Alrighty peeps. We're entering the final three days of the countdown. Noses to the grindstone, people!
