Nothing But Glads

I figured it was time for a gladiola update. I know all of you are on the edge of your seats, just dying to see how my gladiolas are coming along, so let's check them out!

Well, they be a-growin'. Two of them are doing very well for themselves, and one is just popping up out of the ground. I thought that the middle bulb was a dud, and went in to remove it when I noticed a short little stalk growing out from it. It's growing pretty close to one of the sides instead of up through the middle, so I've got the lamp working on it to straighten it out (hopefully).

It's that little white bud sneaking up out of the dirt. I've read that glads generally need stakes to strengthen the stalks once the flowers start appearing. I'll probably just forage around the apartment for twigs and sticks, then find something like string to tie 'em up. If we get that far. We'll see!

I just realized that I have no idea what we're having for dinner. Internet recipes to the rescue!
