Here are the list of hors d'oeuvres that we have to choose from for the reception (and probably the tasting, although she might just have all of these available):
- Spicy Shrimp Cocktail Shooters (add $2 per person for shrimp)
- Surf and Turf Crostini - Slices of Beef topped w/ a cold crab salad on crostini
- Chicken Satay Skewer w/ Peanut Sauce
- Sausage and Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms
- Goat Cheese and Carmelized Onion Tartlets
- Bacon Wrapped Mini Potatoes w/ Maple Bourbon Butter Glaze
- Southwest Chicken Purse – Chicken, Spices, Cheddar Cheese and Cream Cheese mixed together and served in a wonton wrapper
- Cucumber Bites – Tomato and Onion Salad w/Fresh Vinaigrette served in a cucumber cup
- Caprese Salad Skewers – Tomato, Basil and Mozzarella skewered and drizzled with balsamic vinegar
- Party Potatoes – Mini twice baked potatoes
- Meatball Lollipops – Southwest spiced pork and beef meatballs seared and cooked and served with 3 dipping sauces
- Beef en Brochette – Bites of Sirloin, with a jalepeno sliver wrapped in bacon and grilled and coated in a spicy barbeque sauce
- You can replace 2 selections for a fruit, cheese and vegetable display, or it can be added for $2.00 per person
I'm thinking of purchasing bubble wands for the send-off after the reception. Here's the full list of them, and here's a picture of what I think I want:
These guys are $5.99/pack of 48 (a 15% discount brings that to $5.09) - and if you think about it, H. and I don't have to have bubble wands to send ourselves off, right? So if there's 50 people coming, then it's a perfect fit. Maybe I should wait to purchase these until I have a good RSVP count. What do you guys think?
I love the bubble wands! I looked at the page, and I think the ones you posted a picture of the most though! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to be able to make it this weekend, but I suggested to your mom that she and your dad, or maybe some brothers go in my stead. They all like food, right?
I've contacted Millie from Takes The Cakes about getting an appointment set up. Looks like we're only going to have to get one specialty minicake for the Amaretto. I haven't set up an appointment yet. I'm waiting on a reply from her; first of all, if she has April 30th open for a cake, and secondly, if it's okay to get a consultation after 3 on a Saturday. Hopefully that will happen sometime in the next couple of weeks. I also sent an email to DD. Those two were the only ones with email addresses listed. I was going to see if we could get something with the two of them before contacting the others. I'll keep you posted!
Dad and I will go to Arlington. Do we have to call her to confirm that we will attend?
ReplyDeleteI just confirmed with the Kerri that Dad and I will come to the tasting Saturday. I'm so excited! M
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you can't go, Susan, but I really need to nail this down with the caterer. And thank you so much for your work in coordinating the cake tastings and scheduling it for April 30th.
ReplyDeleteMom & Dad: Have fun at the tasting! And try not to get lost in Arlington, kk? :P
